“Sugar Daddies, Boy Toys”: Upcoming Reality TV Show by Fashion Designer Wayne James
Just when it seemed like every reality TV show under the sun has already been produced, St. Croix-born fashion designer Wayne James has come up with “Sugar Daddies, Boy Toys,” the Miami-based show that is likely to heat up even “Sun City.”
Unlike other dating-genre reality TV shows, where the protagonist, godlike, gets to determine the fate and future of the various contestants, in “Sugar Daddies, Boy Toys,” both Daddies and Boy Toys posses the power of selection—the way it is in the real world. Season One begins with six vetted Daddies who must each have a net worth of at least $5 million dollars, and 15 drop-dead- gorgeous Boy Toys (ages 21-39) who have been selected from a pool of 60 quarter-finalists, then 30 semi-finalists, from around the world.
Then after a series of glamorous, fun-filled events—from spectacular masquerade ball to talent show to contestant-cooks dinner parties to Worth Avenue shopping sprees—comes the Grande Finale, where the choice comes down to the possibility of love everlasting versus the certainty of $100,000 in clean, cold cash.
The cosmopolitan city of Miami, with its breathtakingly beautiful beaches, scintillating nightlife, and gourmet restaurants and quaint bars, serves as the setting for the show.
“Sugar Daddies, Boy Toys” is a departure from the back-stabbing, throat-cutting, domestic drama that we have all come to know and despise about ‘reality’ TV shows,” says Wayne James, creator of the show. “This show is elegant, glamorous, eventful, and uniquely egalitarian. It is at once chess, poker, lotto, and love.”
Season One on-line auditions begin on November 1, 2024, and extend until February 28, 2026. Interested persons should apply at www.sugardaddiesboytoys.com where persons may also join the mailing list for periodic updates on the progress of the show and the fall of 2026 Grand Premiere.
“ ‘Sugar Daddies, Boy Toys’ is an envelope-pusher,” James said. “It’s the one reality TV show that’s been overlooked in plain view. Well, now it’s here. And the timing couldn’t be better,” James concluded.
